I don’t think that at this point, Cecilia Green had become Russell Flint’s main model.
The backgroundis discintly Spanish, though I suspect the painting was put together in the artist’s studio at Campden Hill.
This painting was enterered in the Royal Academy sa Russell Flint’s diploma work.
It is interesting to note that the copyright of all diploma work passes to the R.A.
Many years later, The Royal Acamedy published Castanets as a signed limited edition,
Although by this time Russell Flint’s work had changed considerably to mages such as ‘Danza Montana’
