Artemis and Chione
Artemis the Greek goddess of hunting, daughter of Zeus and sister to Apollo, with Chione the sister of Cleopatra
Chione was a princess of Pokis.
She was beloved by two gods, Hermes and Apollo, and boasted that she was more beautiful than Artemis because she had made two gods fall in love with her at once.
Artemis was furious and killed Chione with an arrow, or struck her dumb by shooting off her tongue.
However, some versions of this myth say Apollo and Hermes protected her from Artemis’ wrath.
