Ray as Madame du Barry

Ray as Madame du Barry, Ray Fuller was a model frequently for Sir William Russell Flint’s paintings.
The title ‘Ray’, was published as an unsigned limited edition and became a sought after image.
We can also see the other painting that paired with ‘Ray as Madame du Barry’; ‘Ray as Madame Pompadour’.

In the mid-1950s Sir William Russell flint had been commissioned to produce seven pictures to illustrate memoirs of madame Du Barry. As the majority of these were red chalk drawings published by Felix Rosenstiel.
